Dynamic Duos: Tone Bent and Brulée

brown paper tickets

Where: Occidental Center for the Arts

What: Spend an evening with two fantastic musical partnerships: Tone Bent and Brulée.

Roland Jacopetti, Music Programmer at KRCB-FM, had this to say about the guitar and voice duo of Robyn Eschner and Bill Horvitz, better known as Tone Bent : "I heard Tone Bent the other night, and was completely delighted. I had already heard their CD, and that delighted me, too, but their presence added a complete new dimension. Great stories, warm audience interaction and a stellar collection of songs; not a clinker in the lot. Can a woman, a man and two guitars generate the makings of a first-class good time? They can. Can original songs be intelligent, funny and emotional at the same time? They can. And they are probably the first poet/musicians in history to ever rhyme "Tyranosaurus Rex" and "a bowl of Rice Chex." Hear Tone Bent. See Tone Bent. Simultaneously, if possible."http:www.tonebent.com

Brulée is a jazz duo consisting of Julie Weiner on vocals and Doug Onstad on keyboards. They do classic jazz and contemporary standards with unique stylings showing homage for the past and joy in the present. They have twice won Best Song and Best Performance honors at West Coast songwriter events. http://www.bruleesonomacounty.com/
