Occidental Fool's Parade and OCA Open House
When: Saturday, April 3, 1:00-5:00 PM
Where: Downtown Occidental
What: Calling All Fools!
Come one and come all. Put on your motley attire, your clown face, your old top hat and join the fun at the annual Occidental Fool's Parade. Bring your musical instruments, gather your group together, or come solo. Family Fools welcome, Sidelines Fools welcome. But, please, pedal or foot power only, no motorized or commercial entries in the merriment.
This year the Fool's Parade comes under the parasol of the Occidental Center for the Arts but, as usual, the parade will start at the Community Center, amble down Main Street snaking its way back to the Center for the Arts on Bohemian Hwy in Harmony Village for continued revelry. Bands, followed by acoustical perfomances including Zero the Clown, readings, stand-up acts, music by the Occidental Community Choir and perhaps you, until 5pm.
There will also be a kids table with art projects and a general open house to celebrate the Grand Re-opening of the Occidental Center for the Arts.
If your group wants to march, strut, or toot your horns, please contact Kate Price, Keeper of the Golden Plunger, at 707 869 9883.
If you want to really get foolish and be included as a perfomer or reader, in the Acoustical Mystery Tour, please email Patrick Fanning: fanning@sonic.net.
